OPEN CALL 2026

HAVE YOUR WORK PUBLISHED ON ASTRES D’OR

Astres d’Or is an established and prestigious international platform for the publication of combined music and artworks since 2017. In the tenth year of our existence we’re entering a new fase in which we’ll actively look for new talent in the avant-garde domain.
For this, we’re starting an open call, open for everyone to participate.

1ST PRIZE: LP PUBLICATION ON ASTRES D’OR
What is the prize:
A music publication on Astres d’Or in the form of a high quality vinyl LP, with your original art in edition of 25.
This combined music and art publication will be highlighted on our website and included in our catalogue. You’ll receive part of the edition (12 ex). The winner agrees that 13 of his/her artworks will become property of Astres d’Or. Twelve of these will be promoted continuously on the Astres d’Or website. One work will be part of the Astres d’Or collection for future exhibitions.

What do we ask:
1. Music.
We’re open for receiving music in the avant-garde domain. This is a broad area and includes many genres and ranges from (but is not limited to) modern classical music to spoken word poetry, from improvised jazz to electro-acoustic music (etc, etc…). NB: Only send us music which fits the avant-garde description. When you’re in doubt, take a good look at the Astres d’Or publications of the last ten years. We will not take in consideration genres which don’t fit in our discography.
2. Art.
Astres d’Or publications come together with original art. This can be the art of the musician but it can also be art of another artist. This art needs to be original art and can be drawings, paintings, photographs, collage, paperwork, textile, etc. We will not take in consideration AI generated work.

What is required:
When you like to participate in this open call, a fee of 35 euro is required. After receiving your fee, we’ll send you a confirmation email in which we’ll explain where you can send your music file and visual documentation. Your visual documentation includes two photos of a selection of the applicable artworks. You don’t need to send original artworks.

After you’ve send us your music and visual documentation:
A first selection of the ten best works will be made after the deadline. We’ll inform the winning artist through our social media channels on Facebook and Instagram. The winner needs to send us 25 artworks, which we’ll then combine with the 25 vinyl records.

  • Deadline for this Open Call: 1 October 2026.
  • Announcement of the winner: 1 November 2026.
  • Publication of the winning work: 1 December 2026.

Timo van Luijk is an autodidact sound instrumentalist / improvising composer, photographer and printmaker. An appearing constant in all his work is a profound attraction to an irrational, organic and delicate stilled world observed through antique lenses, a fin de siècle aura faded through erosion of time. He is a founding member of the Noise-Maker’s Fifes collective (1989-2006) and since 2000 he publishes his solo music (Af Ursin) and collaboration projects with a.o. Andrew Chalk, Bart De Paepe, Christoph Heemann, Frederik Croene, Kris Vanderstraeten, Raymond Dijkstra on his La Scie Dorée imprint. In 2007 he founded the Metaphon record label releasing a releasing archive works of experimental music composers and sound artists like Michael Ranta, Arsène Souffriau, Rolf Gehlhaar, Robert Fesler

Jon Mueller studied jazz drumming with Hal Russell at Columbia College in Chicago, and singing with La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela at the Kirana Center for Indian Classical Music in New York. A prolific performer, he tours extensively and has appeared at festivals and venues throughout the United States, Canada, England, Europe and Japan. NEWS

ASTRES D’OR 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

Open Call for a Publication on Astres d’Or

Astres d’Or Vinyl Cutting Service

Since 2017 we have been working towards building a fine catalog of artists who are highly inspired to show their creative works in a different light than is usual in the world of music. And in the world of art for that matter. Both separate entities are since decades the stage for making money, where music and art are just playing the second fiddle. We don’t claim we can change this, but we cán show how publications can also be done. Vibrant and with inspiration. And entirely the domain of the artist. The unadapted and unaltered vision of the artist.

All Astres d’Or vinyls are handcut one by one in our own bhaavitaaH bhuutasthaH studio. Each a direct copy cut from the source. No copy from a stamper from a mother from a father from a lacquer like is done with pressed records (with all added noise as a consequence). Our vinyls have no deterioration and are of the highest quality, crisp and clean.

In fact, each of them is specially made when you as a collector place an order. When we receive your order, we cut your vinyl especially for you. With highest attention for detail.

For the near future and beyond we’ll continue showing that music publications can be as powerful and vibrant as the vision of the artist and are in fact an original work of art in itself, a total work of art combining visual art and music.
